The next adventure
It is Christmastime. Most people are contemplating family time, tinsel, Christmas pudding and hangovers. We are also doing those things, but with the added bonus of a new adventure. In a couple of days, we leave for Goulburn for Christmas with my mum and sister and my 14yo. Then we come back, grab our bags, and head for the airport. We stay overnight, then leave for India the next day. We fly to Delhi, stay overnight, then we fly to Goa.
I’ve never been to South India. So far, all our trips have been to places I’ve been, looking at them through new eyes as it were. I sometimes wonder if this is a safety mechanism in my part. But South India is new. We’re planning an easy and relaxing ride down the west coast, heading south from Goa through Gokarna and Udupi, and down to Kochi. We’ll do the overnight boat thing in Alleppey, then head inland across the western ghats to Mysore and Chikmagalur. We need to end in Mumbai. Or course, things could change and we deviate from our path. That’s the nature of how we travel.
So our next post will be from Goa.
