I think everyone can breathe a sigh as 2023 draws to a close. Certainly it’s been a crazy year for us and one for which we need another adventure to recharge. We thought about Eastern Java, but eventually settled on Thailand. Dalma has never been there, so it seemed appropriate. (Mind, she’d also never been to India or Bali when we went, most of her travel being corporate or in Eastern Europe.)

Thailand was my first overseas trip. I spent a glorious month there in 1993 with my girlfriend at the time. In many ways, that trip was what first gave me the travel bug. We travelled from the islands in the South to Korat (Nakhon Ratchisima) and to Chiang Mai. It was pretty fast travel, though it didn’t seem like it.

So, now Dalma and I are returning. We’re planning a few days in Bangkok, then up to Korat, then wending our way up to Chiang Khan on the Lao border, then hopefully to Chiang Mai to catch up with my old audio engineer friend Greg Simmons, and then back down to Bangkok.

We hope you’ll join us on our trip.
